What are you looking at?

What are you looking at?, originally uploaded by Jon Chiang.

So….for some reason or another, these heads suddenly appeared in front of Lansdowne. There was no information about them, but a lot of interested people. It reminded me of the power art has on a community as I saw over 20 people come walking by and asking questions about the sculpture. Who made them? What’s it made out of? Is this part of the Olympics? This event showed me the value of art in our community and its ability to get people talking and questioning.

  1. I’m volunteering with the Cultural Olympiad and there is a CODE (Cultural Olympiad Digital Edition) exhibit at the Central Library called Truce. It’s sponsored by the Governor-General and basically, people come and write down wishes for world peace, or for anything, really, and they fold their pieces of paper into origami. And then it gets attached to LED lights and flown to top to the glass ceiling. That’s what I’ve been told, anyway. It sounds pretty cool though.

  2. Ohhh, that sounds awesome! I’ve gotta skytrain down and write one on/take pictures!
