The Last of Montreal

Okay, so I know all of us say we’re studying right now…but really, we’re not. We’re on facebook. So why not take a couple minutes before you get back to work and check out some pictures?

The rest of these were taken in and around Old Montreal and Notre Dame Basilica, Enjoy! And as usual check out the rest of the stream on my flickr!

Montreal

Montreal

So I just came back on tuesday  from a 6 day stint in Montreal for the Easter long week-end. I was talking with my friend Ivy and was like “I just realized I have a 6 day weekend…I should come visit you in Montreal.” That was basically how I ended up going. Everyone who knows me, knows that this is very out of character as I’m usually a pretty boring/not adventurous person, but I’m glad I made the trip.

Montreal

Montreal was amazing. This was the first time I’ve really visited a city outside of BC (apart from Layovers in Toronto) and I had the time of my life. Arriving to a 24 degree summer-like day, the city was incredible and packed with people walking and enjoying the weather. The streets reminded me of a psuedo Canadian/French Paris/Vancouver (if that made sense). My photos don’t do the city justice (this is only the first batch) because I was too busy looking at everything and enjoying the sights to really focus on taking pictures (whoops). But anyways, thanks to all the amazing people I met on the trip, you all made it extremely memorable. Montreal, as cheesy as it sounds, pretty life altering, in my eyes. This was the first time I’ve done some ‘adventurous’ traveling and I know it won’t be my last. It was a nice reminder to just chill out, step out of your comfort zone and meet some awesome people.

John Mayer.

Everybody is just a stranger but
that’s the danger in going my own way
I guess it’s the price I have to pay
still “Everything happens for a reason”
is no reason not to ask myself

Not enough words, nor pictures can describe how incredible this concert was. It was everything I expect and much more. I feel sometimes like his lyrics speak for my heart, like I don’t need to say anything, just listen to his music and it is enough. Awesome start to my long-weekend. Leaving tomorrow morning to Montreal, it’s going to be great. Have a great weekend everyone!

Cherry Blossoms!

Minnie had the great idea of going out and taking pictures with/of the Cherry Blossoms with Betty. It was a beautiful day on campus and it feels like summer is going to come really fast. We walked around the back of Buchanan and then headed over to the Nitobe Memorial Garden. Even though a lot of the trees hadn’t blossomed, it was really nice. The rest of the set is here, enjoy!

The end of the Olympics

It was the perfect ending to the most imperfect of starts. A gold medal in our game, in our home and 2 Olympics records set. The streets were flooded with red and white, chants, cheers and O’Canada’s. What turned out to be one of the oldest international sporting events was the spark Vancouver needed to show its pride for Canada. You’ll be missed.

A-maze-ing Laughter.

I think I’m gonna have to start a project to find the Biennale Art Exhibits around Vancouver and photograph them because they’re pretty awesome. Here are the ones by Yue Minjun at English Bay entitled “A-maze-ing Laughter”. In case you’re unfamiliar with this exhibit, it’s a public showcase of art around Vancouver. You can find the website here and the rest of my pictures here.
