The Last of Montreal

Okay, so I know all of us say we’re studying right now…but really, we’re not. We’re on facebook. So why not take a couple minutes before you get back to work and check out some pictures?

The rest of these were taken in and around Old Montreal and Notre Dame Basilica, Enjoy! And as usual check out the rest of the stream on my flickr!

Montreal

So I just came back on tuesday  from a 6 day stint in Montreal for the Easter long week-end. I was talking with my friend Ivy and was like “I just realized I have a 6 day weekend…I should come visit you in Montreal.” That was basically how I ended up going. Everyone who knows me, knows that this is very out of character as I’m usually a pretty boring/not adventurous person, but I’m glad I made the trip.

Montreal

Montreal was amazing. This was the first time I’ve really visited a city outside of BC (apart from Layovers in Toronto) and I had the time of my life. Arriving to a 24 degree summer-like day, the city was incredible and packed with people walking and enjoying the weather. The streets reminded me of a psuedo Canadian/French Paris/Vancouver (if that made sense). My photos don’t do the city justice (this is only the first batch) because I was too busy looking at everything and enjoying the sights to really focus on taking pictures (whoops). But anyways, thanks to all the amazing people I met on the trip, you all made it extremely memorable. Montreal, as cheesy as it sounds, pretty life altering, in my eyes. This was the first time I’ve done some ‘adventurous’ traveling and I know it won’t be my last. It was a nice reminder to just chill out, step out of your comfort zone and meet some awesome people.

The Pictures are on my Flickr stream and I’ll edit/upload the rest later!

Vancouver Biennale: Water #10

This is Water #10 by Chinese artist Jun Ren. This 7 tonne stainless steel sculpture is suppose to represent liquid water as a drop or spill in motion. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to capture the very top of the structure, but I’ll have to go back again. Surrounding the sculpture is the beautiful water front facing the BCIT Aerospace Building and the Richmond Olympic Oval down stream. The Last picture is from an airplane flying overhead making its way towards YVR. If you want to watch a beautiful sunset..bring a date, you know…you should really come here and enjoy the view. The rest of the pictures are here.

The end of the Olympics

It was the perfect ending to the most imperfect of starts. A gold medal in our game, in our home and 2 Olympics records set. The streets were flooded with red and white, chants, cheers and O’Canada’s. What turned out to be one of the oldest international sporting events was the spark Vancouver needed to show its pride for Canada. You’ll be missed.
